Dave Bloustien has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Dave is currently working as the Education Lead at UNSW, where they manage a small education team and develops education solutions for projects related to safety and complaints & investigations. Prior to this, Dave worked as a Freelance Comedian, Writer, Producer, Improvisor, Copywriter, and Corporate Trainer. Dave has performed at festivals and venues worldwide and has also utilized their comedy and TV writing skills to train executives in stand-up comedy. Dave has also worked as a Senior Learning Experience Designer at How Too Learning, where they used animation and gamification to create engaging and interactive learning experiences. Additionally, they have contributed and written gags for A Rational Fear, a comedy podcast, and worked as a Screenwriter at Ambience Entertainment. Dave has also lectured at the Australian Film Television and Radio School and served as an Academic Tutor at UTS: University of Technology Sydney. Dave's earlier experience includes roles such as Instructional Designer at Savv-e and Producer and Creative Director at Wit Large, specializing in alternative comedy and managing corporate and festival events. Dave also briefly worked as the Head Writer at Duff Productions.

Dave Bloustien has a diverse education history. In 1994, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature, General from the University of Adelaide. Following this, in 1999, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies from the University of Sydney. Dave continued their academic journey at the University of Sydney, where they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Cultural Studies/Critical Theory and Analysis from 1998 to 2003. In 2016, Bloustien attended the Australian Film Television and Radio School, where they pursued a Graduate Certificate in Screenwriting, specifically focusing on Playwriting and Screenwriting.

Furthermore, in November 2020, they received an Excellence Awards Winner 2020 - Best Diversity & Inclusion Program certification from the Australian Institute of Training & Development (AITD).
