Jonathan Matthews is an experienced professional in project management and technical leadership within the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. Currently serving as Senior Director of Project Management at HOYA Surgical Optics, Jonathan effectively guides a team through the development of new intraocular lenses and inserters, navigating regulatory submissions and global market strategies. Previously, as NPI Technical Manager at GSK, Jonathan coached R&D teams on quality by design (QbD) and revitalized a manufacturability assessment tool. In roles at Pfizer and Bristol-Myers Squibb, Jonathan led tech transfers and process innovations while contributing to significant projects in cGMP manufacturing. Jonathan holds a Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry and a BSc. (Hons.) in Chemistry from University College Dublin.
