Mary Lord

Mary Lord began their work experience as a Technical Author at Mercury Communications in 1986, where they documented in-house systems and provided training. Mary then worked as a Technical Author at Softrans Ltd from June 1988 to May 1989, followed by a freelance role at TMS from June 1989 to October 1999.

Mary then ventured into teaching and teacher training from September 2002 to September 2008, where they supported students and provided staff training and technical support.

In 2009, Mary joined the Pitman Training Group as a Senior Technical Author, developing courses for an international franchise. This included curriculum development, audio scripting, and creating various learning materials. Mary worked in this role until August 2014.

From August 2014 to July 2018, Mary worked at Alemba as a Technical Author, creating online help websites, training videos, and supporting marketing efforts.

Mary then joined Datalinx Computer Systems Ltd as a Technical Author from July 2018 to August 2019, where they developed an online help system for the company's warehouse management software, resulting in a significant decrease in customer support calls.

Mary then worked at Valitor as a Technical Author from August 2019 to September 2021, creating an online help site for partners and merchants.

Mary'smost recent role was at Trade Ledger™, where they worked as a Technical Author from September 2021 to June 2022. Mary developed a documentation strategy and created product documentation using Paligo.

Currently, Mary is working as a Lead Technical Author at HPD Lendscape, starting in 2022.

Mary Lord attended Our Lady of Mercy College in Dublin from 1970 to 1982, but did not pursue a specific degree or field of study. Mary later went on to study at Dublin City University from 1983 to 1986, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Communications. In 2006, Mary pursued further education at the University of Brighton, completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in 2008 with a focus on Education.
