James Varley

Mr. Varley is a Managing Director and Head of Operations and Treasury at HPS Investment Partners. Prior to joining HPS in 2018, Mr. Varley spent six years as the Director of Operations at MSD Capital where he was responsible for all back and middle office functions of the firm globally. Prior to MSD Capital, Mr. Varley had similar roles at Strategic Value Partners, Stanfield Capital Partners, Lipper & Company, and Morgan Stanley. Mr. Varley holds both a BBA from Hofstra University and an MBA from Hofstra University – Zarb School of Business.
