Nicolas Vogt

Stack Leader Quantum Computing at HQS Quantum Simulations

Nicolas Vogt is a quantum computing engineer who currently leads the stack at HQS Quantum Simulations. Nicolas has a background in research and development, with experience in both academia and industry.

Vogt began their career as a visiting scientist at RMIT University in 2013, where they worked on developing efficient simulation algorithms for open quantum systems. Nicolas then took on a role as research officer at the university, overseeing independent projects on superconducting circuits, nano-electronics and theoretical condensed matter physics. In 2018, Vogt left academia to join Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH as a development engineer. The following year, they joined HQS Quantum Simulations as a quantum algorithms engineer. In their current role as stack leader, Vogt is responsible for managing the software stack of the company’s quantum computers.

Vogt has published their research in peer-reviewed journals and presented at conferences throughout their career. Nicolas holds a degree in physics from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

Nicolas Vogt has a PhD in Physics from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), and a Diplomphysiker (equivalent to Bachelor and Master by research) in Physics from the same school.
