Sam Cotter P.e.

Sam Cotter, P.E. has a diverse work experience spanning from 2006 to the present. They started their career as a Field Technician at Burse Surveying & Engineering in 2006. In 2007, they worked as an Intern Engineer at Howard R. Green Company, where they gained experience in design calculations, construction inspection, survey, and administrative tasks for municipal engineering projects.

In 2008, Sam became a Transit Driver at CyRide (Ames Transit Authority) and worked there until 2009. Following that, they served as a Graduate Assistant at Iowa State University from 2009 to 2010, where they conducted research and taught lab sections of an undergraduate course.

After completing their role as a Graduate Assistant, Sam joined Mehlburger Brawley Inc. in 2010 as an EIT (Engineering Intern) and worked on analysis, design, and construction support for various projects related to municipal water/sewer systems, water/wastewater treatment plants, and hydrology studies.

In 2012, they joined Cardinal Engineering as a Project Manager / Design Engineer and held that position until 2016. During this time, they managed projects and also conducted design engineering work.

Sam Cotter, P.E. completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at Iowa State University from 2005 to 2009. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Environmental Engineering at the same institution from 2009 to 2010.
