Eric Urcia

Scientific Director at HRC Fertility

Eric Urcia has over 20 years of experience in the field of embryology and reproductive medicine. Eric is currently serving as the Scientific Director at HRC Fertility since August 2019. Prior to that, they worked as the Embryology Laboratory Supervisor at California Fertility Partners from January 2014 to July 2019. Eric also held the role of Senior Embryologist at ART Reproductive Center from December 2012 to February 2013 and at The Muasher Center for Fertility and IVF from August 2006 to July 2007. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Staff Associate/Senior Embryologist at Columbia University from September 2007 to November 2012 and as a Senior Embryologist/Supervisor at Reproductive Medicine Associates New Jersey from July 2004 to May 2006. Eric's earlier experience includes working as an Embryologist at Genetics and IVF Institute from July 2002 to June 2004 and at Weill Cornell Medical College from May 1998 to June 2002.

Eric Urcia completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at James Madison University from 1992 to 1996. Eric then pursued a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Science at Barry University, which they obtained in 1997. In terms of additional certifications, Eric has achieved the Technical Supervisor (TS) certification from the American Board of Bioanalysis in May 2006. Additionally, they hold the certification of Clinical Laboratory Technologist from The University of the State of New York, although the specific details regarding when they obtained this certification are not available.
