Angus Allan is an experienced financial crime risk and compliance professional with a career spanning over three decades in various leadership roles. Currently serving as Senior Director and Head of Financial Crime Risk & Controls at HSBC Innovation Banking, Angus leads the 1st Line of Defence team responsible for assessing high-risk clients and prospects. Previous roles include Director at Silicon Valley Bank, where Angus established the 1st Line of Defence Financial Crime Risk & Controls team and managed the UK Financial Crime Transformation Programme, as well as a range of director-level positions at Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland focusing on financial crime risk management and compliance. Angus's early career includes significant advisory experience at EY and founding GAA Consultancy Limited. Angus holds a CPFA in Accounting and Finance from The Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy and a MA in Accountancy from the University of Aberdeen.
