Bethany Rugen

Bethany Rugen (also known as Bethany Baguley) is a regulatory lawyer advising HSBC UK on consumer banking, with a focus on payments and data privacy. Currently, in their role as Senior Legal Counsel, Bethany draws on extensive experience from previous positions, including Head of Data Privacy and Regulatory Law at Zing and an associate role at Addleshaw Goddard LLP. They began their legal career as a trainee solicitor at Clifford Chance LLP and have advised numerous financial institutions on regulatory matters. Bethany holds a degree in Law with Law Studies in Europe from Worcester College, University of Oxford, and has studied German law at the University of Konstanz.
