Javier Finkman is the Chief Economist for South America at HSBC and holds the position of Chief Economist within HSBC Global Banking and Markets. They have been a full professor of Capital Markets and Financial Calculation Elements at the University of Buenos Aires since 2016 and serve as an external researcher at the Centro de Estudios de Estado y Sociedad since 2007. Finkman earned a Licenciado in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires in 1988 and completed a postgraduate study in Economics at IDES Instituto de Desarrollo Económico y Social in 1990.
