Huw Pill

Huw Pill is currently the Chief Economist at the Bank of England since September 2021. Prior to this role, Huw held positions as a Senior Lecturer at Harvard Business School and Chief European Economist at Goldman Sachs. Before their time at Goldman Sachs, Huw worked at the European Central Bank as Deputy Director General Research and Head of Monetary Policy Stance Division. Huw has also worked as an Associate Professor at Harvard Business School and as a Principal Economist at the European Central Bank. With a PhD in Economics from Stanford University, Huw has a strong background in academia and research in the fields of economics and finance.
