Chris A. Klay has held various leadership positions in the healthcare industry. Chris A. is currently the President & Chief Executive Officer of HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital Highland, a role they have held since 2023. Prior to this, they served as the President & Chief Executive Officer of St. Elizabeth's Hospital starting from 2022. From 2017 to 2022, they were the President & Chief Executive Officer of St. Joseph's Hospital, which is part of the Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS). In this role, they oversaw a hospital with 52 beds and managed a team of 217 colleagues.

Chris A. Klay, MHA, MA, PT, FACHE has an extensive education history. In 1990, they graduated from Chetek High School with a High School Diploma, where they focused on General Studies. Chris A. then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences from The College of St. Scholastica from 1994 to 1998. In 1997, Chris continued their education at The College of St. Scholastica, earning a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Physical Therapy/Therapist, which they completed in 1999.

Continuing their academic pursuits, Chris obtained a Master's Degree in Master of Health Administration from Ohio University between 2014 and 2016. During this time, they also participated in the Health/Healthcare Executive Leadership program as a Fellow of The Advisory Board Company (FABC) at The Advisory Board Company in 2014 and 2015.
