Jim Shen, P.Eng.

Jim Shen, P.Eng. has a diverse range of work experience in the engineering field. Jim is currently a Project Manager at HTEC, a position they have held since January 2023. In this role, Jim is responsible for managing the Alberta Zero Emission Hydrogen Transit Project (AZEHT) initiative, which aims to develop green hydrogen production projects across North America.

Prior to their current position, Jim worked at Zen and the Art of Clean Energy Solutions Inc. from March 2020 to April 2022. During their time there, they served as an Associate, where they assisted clients in industry and public transit in securing over $13 million of funding through government programs. Jim also worked on the transition to zero-emission fleets for public transit agencies, developing ICT rollout plans and conducting operational impact assessments.

Before joining Zen and the Art of Clean Energy Solutions Inc., Jim held the role of Process Engineer at Fortress Advanced Bioproducts Inc. (formerly S2G Biochemicals) from February 2017 to March 2020. Prior to that, they worked as an Operations EIT and Plant Operator at S2G Biochemicals Inc. from October 2013 to February 2017.

Jim's early work experience includes roles as a Lab Technician (Level 2) at Silliker from May 2012 to August 2013, a Product Development Intern at Twothirds Water from November 2012 to March 2013, and an Engineering Intern at Blue ION Water Technologies from April 2011 to September 2011.

Jim Shen, P.Eng. completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering at The University of British Columbia from 2008 to 2013. In January 2019, they obtained the P.Eng. certification from Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
