Bill Strudel has extensive experience in law enforcement and counseling, highlighted by a long tenure at the University of North Florida (UNF), where Bill has served as Deputy Chief since October 2014 and held the role of Interim Police Chief since September 2013. Bill's career includes a notable position as a Sergeant at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office from 1972 to 2005, along with a commitment to community service as a Volunteer in multiple organizations, including Hubbard House, Inc. and Camp Consequences. Bill's educational background includes a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UNF, a Master's in Criminal Justice from Rollins College, and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology from Florida State University.

In 1976 Hubbard House opened its doors as the first domestic violence shelter for victims and their children in Florida. In the past 45 years, Hubbard House has evolved into a nationally recognized full-service, certified domestic violence center providing programs and services to more than 4,000 women, children, and men annually in Duval and Baker counties. While Hubbard House is most known for its emergency shelter, the agency also provides extensive adult and youth outreach services, school-based education, therapeutic child care, court advocacy and volunteer and community education opportunities.
