Steven Collens

Steven Collens is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in various sectors, including healthcare, venture capital, and the arts. Currently serving as Board Chair for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago since September 2020, Collens is committed to advancing contemporary dance through the company's mission. As CEO of MATTER since September 2014, Collens oversees a prominent healthcare startup incubator that supports startups across all growth stages. Collens has held significant roles in Pritzker Group Venture Capital, including Senior Advisor and Senior Vice President, and has contributed to various organizations as a board member, including SwipeSense Inc. and SonarMD. Collens co-founded Constant Wellness and played a crucial role in establishing 1871, a leading incubator for digital startups in Chicago. With a strong foundation in public policy from time spent at Abbott and as a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Senator Carol Moseley-Braun, Collens holds an MBA from Northwestern University and a BA from Washington University in St. Louis.
