Laurence Herbert

Laurence Herbert is an experienced engineering leader with a strong focus on applied machine learning and software development. Currently serving as the Engineering Director of Applied Machine Learning at Hudl since December 2025, Laurence previously held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Sportable, where leadership involved integrating advanced technologies to create athlete-centric systems. Laurence contributed significantly to Graphcore as Vice President of Software, overseeing the development of AI products, after serving as Software and Architecture Manager at Dyson, where innovation and team building were key responsibilities. Earlier roles included Technical and Software Director at TgK Scientific Limited and Software and Electronics Engineer at Hi-Tech Ltd. Laurence began a career in technology as a Systems Engineer at the University of Exeter, following the completion of a Master of Engineering degree in Electronic Engineering at the same institution.
