Gay Young

Board Member at HUDSON GUILD

Gay Young is a board member at Hudson Guild. Prior to their current position, they served on the board of Community Foundations National Standards Board from January 2009 to December 2014. Additionally, they were a board member of Philanthropy New York from January 2008 to December 2014, and an advisory board member of Mt. Sinai Adolescent Health Center from January 2007 to December 2013. From January 2000 to December 2006, they were a board member of West Village Houses and was one of the sponsors for tenant-led cooperative conversion. Lastly, they served as a board member of Fund for Modern Courts from January 2000 to December 2003. Gay began their career at The New York Community Trust in November 1998 and served as the V.P. of Donor Services until June 2021. In this role, they were the primary contact between over 1,300 donors and The New York Community Trust—one of the largest community foundations in the country. Her responsibilities included helping donors to identify and achieve their charitable objectives, vetting the organizations to which they recommend grants, supervising the processing of over 11,000 grants annually, planning events, and helping with development initiatives.

Gay Young has a JD from New York University School of Law and a BA in Poli Sci/Theirtory from Wellesley College.
