Kate Lawlor

Kate Lawlor is currently an ARC Future Fellow at Monash University since January 2020 and serves as Group Head at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research, focusing on the Cell Death and Inflammatory Signalling group. This group aims to identify new molecules regulating cell death and inflammatory signaling, with therapeutic applications for inflammatory diseases. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, specializing in the biochemical analysis of cell death signaling and its implications in various chronic diseases. Earlier roles include postdoctoral researcher positions investigating the role of IAP proteins and intrinsic apoptosis, as well as a research fellowship at the University of Cambridge, exploring autoimmunity and infection mechanisms. Kate Lawlor holds a PhD in Medical Biology and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Pathology and Biochemistry, both from the University of Melbourne.
