Wendy Anderson has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Wendy started their career as a Pre-Intern at Alachua County Public Schools in 2009. In 2011, they interned at the same school district before joining After School Programs, Inc. as a Lead SES Tutor. In this role, they assessed students and developed and implemented a tutoring program for low-income students. Wendy then worked as a Third Grade Teacher and Academic Games Co-sponsor at the SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PALM BEACH COUNTY from 2011 to 2013. Afterwards, they became a Second Grade Teacher at Lexington Public Schools for a year. From 2014 to 2018, they served as an ESL Teacher at Hudson Public Schools before transitioning to the role of an English Learner Education Instructional Coach. Currently, they hold the position of Director of English Learner Education at Hudson Public Schools.
Wendy Anderson has a well-rounded education history that includes both formal degrees and additional certifications. In 2006, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of Florida, where they continued their education and obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Elementary Education in 2011. Prior to their college education, they completed their high school education at Wellington High School and obtained a high school diploma in 2006.
In addition to their degrees, Wendy has acquired several certifications in the field of education. In July 2011, they received a Professional Educator's Certificate in Elementary K-6, as well as an ESOL Endorsement, from the State of Florida Department of Education. Following this, in October 2012, they obtained a Teaching License in Elementary 1-6 from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Wendy continued to expand their qualifications by obtaining an ESL Teaching License PreK-6 from the Massachusetts Department of Education in August 2014, and an ESL Teaching License 5-12 from the same institution in October 2019. These certifications demonstrate their dedication to enhance their skills and expertise as an educator.
