Laura Vookles

Laura Vookles has extensive experience in the arts and curation, serving as the Chair of the Curatorial Department and Chief Curator of Collections at Hudson River Museum since September 1985. Laura has participated in poetry-related activities as a member of Poetry Slam Incorporated from 2006 to 2013, where recognition includes competing as a Storm poet in the Women of the World Poetry Slam in 2009 and 2010, and serving as Assistant Slam Master for the White Plains Public Library Poetry Slam from 2006 to 2012, with participation in the national team in 2007, 2011, and 2012. Additionally, Laura was a member of the Association of Art Museum Curators from 2006 to 2009. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Art History from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Virginia.
