Yvonne is a Partner in the firm’s Commercial Property team and has over 20 years’ experience acting for Welsh registered social landlords. Yvonne has experience of dealing with all property issues concerning Residential Social Landlord (RSLs). As a result of specialising in this work, Yvonne not only has excellent experience and knowledge, but also an in depth understanding of the sector. This includes the requirements of the Welsh Government in relation to governance and grant funding. This ranges from right to buy and shared ownership leases to private finance and complex and high-value development work. Yvonne’s experience in these areas is unrivalled and integrates good technical skills and an in depth knowledge of the issues which particularly affect the housing sector in Wales.
Since 2011, Yvonne has headed our team for the Welsh Housing Partnership and their sister organisation, WHP2 Limited, in relation to the purchase, lease and charging of portfolios of properties with over 900 properties purchased by The Welsh Housing Partnership and approximately 130 purchased for WHP2 Limited.
Yvonne Davies is a stalwart in advising the social housing sector and has lead on the Welsh Housing Partnership since 2011 which is key to the Welsh Government’s house delivery programme.
Yvonne qualified as a Solicitor in 1987, following her attendance at the College of Law, Chester. Yvonne started out as a Matrimonial Lawyer, before moving into the Commercial property field, where she has significant experience. She has been a Partner at Hugh James in the Commercial property team, since 2005.
Yvonne is also a Fluent Welsh speaker and is able to advise clients through the medium of Welsh.
