Rick McElheny

Rick McElheny currently serves as Senior Vice President of Business Development at Humacyte, a position held since December 2025. Prior to this role, Rick was the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Alliance Management at Clearside Biomedical, Inc. from November 2016 to December 2025, and also held the position of Vice President of Corporate Development there. Additional experience includes serving on the Board of Directors at Atlanta Bio/Med Angel Investor Network, founding and taking the role of Vice President of Corporate Development and Supply Chain at Vidara Therapeutics, and directing corporate development at Meda. Earlier in Rick's career, roles included Associate Director of Marketing Research and Business Analysis and Manager of Business Development and Commercial Analysis at MedPointe Pharmaceuticals, and positions related to supply chain and production planning at Multilink and Johnson & Johnson. Rick holds an MBA in Strategy from NYU Stern School of Business and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Management and Environmental Resource Management from Penn State University.
