Sorley McCaughey

Sorley McCaughey is the current Head of Strategic Advocacy and Policy at Human Act. Prior to this, they were the Head of Policy and Advocacy at Christian Aid Ireland from February 2013 to February 2022. Sorley has also held positions as a Policy and Advocacy Advisor at Christian Aid, a Consultant at the Institute of Public Administration, and the Chairperson of the Public Sector Reform Donor Working Group at the Norwegian government aid programme. In addition, they were a Governance Specialist at UNDP from March 2002 to March 2005. Finally, they were the Country Representative/Director at HMD INTERNATIONAL RESPONSE from January 1999 to December 2001.

Sorley McCaughey has a MA in International Relations from Dublin City University, a Certificate in Mediation from the Institute of Irish Mediators, and a BA in Sociology and Ancient Theirtory from Trinity College Dublin.

Sorley McCaughey reports to Nanna Sverrild, Executive Director. They are on a team with Ian Rush - CFO, Jonas Gregersen - CTO, and Ram Prasad Chimariya - CEO, Nepal.
