Kevin Matthew Byrd, DDS, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of dentistry and oral health. Prior to this role, they served as the Senior Manager at the Lab of Oral & Craniofacial Innovation at the ADA Science & Research Institute, LLC. Kevin Matthew has also worked as a Manager of Oral & Craniofacial Research at the same organization.

Dr. Byrd has a strong academic background and has held positions at various institutions. Kevin Matthew has worked as a Research Assistant Professor and Research Instructor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where their focus was on oral and gastrointestinal diseases. Kevin Matthew will also be joining the University of Maryland School of Dentistry as a Faculty Lecturer in the future.

Kevin Matthew Byrd, DDS, PhD completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology and Spanish at Huntington University from 2005 to 2009. Kevin Matthew then pursued a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Michigan from 2009 to 2013. Following this, they obtained their PhD in Oral Biology with a specialization in Developmental and Stem Cell Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they studied from 2013 to 2020.
