Chris Lock has a diverse work experience in the field of UX and management of change. Starting in 1988, they served as the Director of the 'London HCI Centre' at University College London, where they managed the development and execution of HCI and human factors consultancy business. Chris then worked as a Principal Consultant at EFD Limited, handling various Business Requirements analysis and Human Factors assignments. Chris later joined EDS, where they served as a Senior Consultant and played a key role in expanding the consulting capability range and client base. Chris then joined Cornwell Management Consultants plc as a Principal Consultant, focusing on the 'people' dimension of achieving business benefits through successful change. Following that, they worked as the Director of Stamford Interactive, a usability company, where they were responsible for business development and project management. Currently, Chris is a freelance consultant specializing in UX and people-related issues in Management of Change. Chris also teaches UX courses internationally, particularly in User-Centred Design and the psychology of persuasion. Additionally, they hold the position of Executive Director Human Factors Europe at Human Factors International, where they have program management, consulting, business development, and training responsibilities across various operations in the UK, Europe, India, and South Africa.

Chris Lock completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Bristol from 1975 to 1978. Following that, they pursued further education and obtained a PhD in Psychology from Sheffield University between 1979 and 1983.
