Pooja Barak, PhD, currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer at SymviQ and as a Genomic Scientist at LifeBytes Bioinformatics Consulting since October 2020. Additionally, Pooja is a volunteer member of the 'Epilepsy Gene Curation Expert Panel' at the National Human Genome Research Institute. Previous experience includes a graduate student role from 2014 to 2021 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, where Pooja worked on identifying disease-causing genes related to epilepsy. Early research positions include a summer research fellowship at the University of Delhi in 2010 and a summer trainee role at ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute in 2009. Pooja Barak holds a PhD in Molecular Genetics of Epilepsy and a Master's in Human Molecular Genetics from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, as well as a Bachelor's in Biotechnology from Birla Institute of Technology.
