Amy Oden

Amy Oden has a diverse work experience in the fields of video production, project management, and teaching. Amy is currently working as the Senior Director of Video at the Human Rights Campaign since 2022. Previously, from 2007 to the present, Amy has been engaged in freelance producer/director/project manager roles for various companies, including Cortina Productions and The Costa Report.

From 2016 to 2022, Amy worked at Maryland Public Television as a Senior Producer & Manager of Multi-Platform Productions and Strategy. In this role, they were responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans and tactics to grow digital audiences. Amy also managed all editorial and technical aspects of digital content and provided guidance to external and internal producers.

Amy has also worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland in 2019-2020 and the University of Guam in 2012. Their teaching subjects ranged from women and gender in the media to coordinating on-campus film events.

Amy gained early experience at various organizations, including DCTV and MHz Networks, where they held positions such as Creative Services Manager and Production Supervisor. Amy also interned at Washington Post Newsweek Interactive in the Multimedia Department.

Amy Oden completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Maryland from 2000 to 2004. Amy then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Women's Studies and Media from The George Washington University, graduating in the years 2008 to 2012. Additionally, in February 2015, Amy Oden received certification as a Premiere Pro Certified at FMC from Future Media Concepts.
