Cynthia Cheng-Wun Weaver has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Their most recent role is at the Human Rights Campaign, where they serve as the Senior Director of Litigation. Prior to that, they were the Litigation Director at the same organization. Before joining the Human Rights Campaign, Cynthia worked at the NYC Law Department as a Senior Counsel. At Legal Services NYC, they held the position of Senior Attorney, handling civil litigation cases related to anti-discrimination, housing, government benefits, and LGBTQ and HIV laws. Cynthia Cheng-Wun also served as a Staff Attorney at the same organization. Additionally, Cynthia has worked as an Adjunct Professor of Law at New York Law School, a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Christian F. Hummel in the Federal Judiciary, a Legal Intern at the Office of the New York State Attorney General, a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the City University of New York School of Law, a Legal Extern at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, and a Legal Intern at the National Labor Relations Board and the U.S. Courts of Appeals.

Cynthia Cheng-Wun Weaver (she/her/hers) obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Philosophy & Independent Major in Film and Literature from Rutgers University, where they studied from 2001 to 2004. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in International Politics and Human Rights at the University of Glasgow, completing their studies in 2007. Later on, from 2009 to 2012, Cynthia attended the City University of New York School of Law, earning their Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree. Additionally, in 2010, they took courses in comparative criminal procedure and sentencing discretion at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and courses in computer crime, intellectual property rights, and traditional cultural expressions at The George Washington University Law School.
