Director Of Litigation at Human Rights Campaign

Jason Starr has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Jason started their career in 2008 as a Summer Associate at Axxin, Veltrop, and Harkrider LLP. In 2009, they worked as an Appellate Law Clerk at the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, First Department. From 2010 to 2011, they served as a Dean's Fellow at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

In 2012, Jason joined the New York Civil Liberties Union as the Nassau Chapter Director, and later became the Director of Nassau and Suffolk Chapters in 2015. Jason worked there until 2016.

From 2017 to 2019, Jason worked at the New York State Executive Chamber as a Carey Gabay Fellow and Assistant Counsel to the Governor.

Currently, Jason serves as the Director of Litigation at the Human Rights Campaign since December 2019.

Jason Starr (He/Him) completed their education at two different institutions. From 2001 to 2005, they attended the University of Miami, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Economics. Later, from 2007 to 2010, they pursued their legal education at the Cardozo School of Law, acquiring a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. During their time at Cardozo, their focus was on Appellate Litigation and Constitutional Law.
