John Gruber has diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. John is currently serving as the Deputy National Campaign Director at Human Rights Campaign since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Advocacy and Engagement Director at Gun Violence Prevention PAC from April 2019 to February 2022. John also worked as a Communications Consultant at One Aim Illinois from April 2019 to February 2022. Additionally, they were a Fellow at New Leaders Council from January 2019 to November 2019. Prior to their advocacy and campaign roles, they served as a Youth Policy Advocate at Children's Home & Aid from April 2018 to April 2019. John also worked as a Senior Organizing Manager at the Brady Campaign & Center to Prevent Gun Violence from January 2015 to November 2017. Furthermore, they served as a Regional Field Director at Dan Malloy for Connecticut from November 2013 to November 2014. John started their professional career as an Advocacy Associate at DDC from February 2013 to October 2013. John has also worked as a Shaker Heights Field Organizer at Obama for America from April 2012 to November 2012. Lastly, they gained experience as a server at Ye Olde Trail Tavern from August 2011 to April 2012.
John Gruber attended Wittenberg University from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Spanish.
