Human Rights Campaign
Samuel Lau currently serves as Vice President of Communications at the Human Rights Campaign since September 2023. Prior to this role, Lau held various key positions in advocacy and communications, including Senior Director of Advocacy Communications and Director of Federal Advocacy Communications at Planned Parenthood Federation of America from September 2019 to August 2023. Previous experience includes serving as Communications Director for the House Budget Committee Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives, Communications Director for Tony Evers' campaign, and positions in the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and Iowa Democratic Party. Lau began a career in communications with roles such as Press Secretary and Deputy Press Secretary on prominent political campaigns, including Obama for America. Lau holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
