Nicola Maghelli

Head Of National Facility For Light Imaging at Human Technopole

Nicola Maghelli currently serves as the Head of the National Facility for Light Imaging and Senior Manager of the Light Imaging Facility at Human Technopole since January 2022. Previously, Nicola was the Facility Leader at MPI-CBG, specializing in providing advanced imaging tools for live cell microscopy from 2017 to January 2022. From 2011 to 2017, Nicola worked as a Senior Staff Scientist at the Center for System Biology Dresden, focusing on the development of light-sheet microscopy solutions. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral researcher position at MPI-CBG (2005-2011), where contributions were made in developing two-photon microscopy and optical tweezers, and a PhD research role at Ulm University (2001-2005), concentrating on atomic force microscopes. Nicola holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Ulm University and a Master of Science in Physics from Università di Pisa.
