Head Of Genomics Research Centre – Functional Genomics at Human Technopole

Piero Carninci is a prominent figure in the field of genomics with extensive experience in research and technology development. Currently serving as the Head of the Genomics Research Center at Human Technopole since July 2020, Piero focuses on creating innovative technologies to study DNA and RNA structures and their regulatory elements in three-dimensional cellular contexts. In addition to this role, Piero serves as Deputy Director at the RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences and as a member of the Advisory Board for Chelonia Applied Science. Piero holds a visiting professor position at Yokohama City University's Graduate School of Medical Life Science, while previous roles include co-founding and leading TransSINE Technologies and directing the Division of Genomic Technologies at the RIKEN Center for Life Science Technologies. Piero's academic background includes a Doctorate in Biology from Università degli Studi di Trieste.
