Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) is one of Pennsylvania’s largest non-profit organizations dedicated to the welfare of animals, pet owners and the community. With our two domestic animal shelters and fully licensed Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, HARP is a trusted and caring resource helping more than 25,000 animals each year through our adoption programs, veterinary medical centers, care for injured or orphaned native Pennsylvania wildlife, pet food distribution and community engagement activities.  Our open door policy ensures that no animal is ever refused shelter.

The Medical Services and Veterinary Care team at Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh is responsible for providing comprehensive medical treatment and veterinary care to both domestic animals and injured wildlife. This team ensures the health and well-being of the animals in HARP’s care through preventive care, emergency treatment, and rehabilitation services, while also overseeing the training and management of veterinary staff to enhance animal welfare and support the organization’s mission.
