Lawrence Minnis has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Lawrence is currently working as the Director of Learning and Development at Humane Rescue Alliance. Prior to this, they served as a Graduate Student Instructor at George Mason University, where they taught a course on the science of well-being and positive psychology. Lawrence was also the Owner/Lead Trainer at Homeward Pack Training, where they provided obedience and behavioral modification training services for pets and offered pet ownership counseling. Additionally, Lawrence served as a Team Coach at Waverly Hall Youth Sports Association, coaching youth in football and track & field. Lawrence has also held a military position as an Officer in the US Army.
Lawrence Minnis holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Psychology with a focus on Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience from George Mason University. Lawrence also earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Psychology from the same university in 2020. Lawrence completed their undergraduate studies at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Management from 1999 to 2004. Prior to that, Lawrence attended Episcopal High School from 1993 to 1999. Lawrence also completed a certification program in Canine Training and Behavioral Analysis at the Washington Humane Society: Dog Tags Program in 2008. In addition, Lawrence has pursued further education in Psychology at Anne Arundel Community College. Lawrence has obtained certifications in Data Visualization for Data Analysis and Analytics, as well as Learning Python from LinkedIn in 2021.
