Doug Handyside

Doug Handyside is an experienced professional with a strong background in leadership and engineering. Currently serving as a Canine Coach at Humane Society Naples since October 2019, Doug provides support in dog care and training, particularly in rescue and adoption efforts after natural disasters. Previously, Doug held various executive leadership roles at BHP Billiton from July 2010 to June 2016, including Vice President Engineering and Head of Country for Australia, overseeing global operations and engineering excellence. Doug's career commenced at BP, where from 1985 to 2009, senior leadership roles included Asset Manager for the Holstein spar and Subsurface Functional Engineering Authority for Gulf of Mexico deepwater assets. Doug holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and completed the Executive Program in Operations Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
