Lizann Risk

Lizann Risk has over 25 years of work experience, primarily in HR roles. Lizann is currently the Director of Human Resources at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley since April 2022. Prior to that, they worked at EDUCAUSE for almost a decade as the Director of Human Resources, where they led the HR team and was responsible for various HR functions such as benefits administration, payroll, policy development, recruiting, and employee relations. Before joining EDUCAUSE, Lizann also held HR positions at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, including Director of Human Resources and HR Manager. In these roles, they developed and implemented hiring procedures, oversaw HR policies and compliance, handled employee relations, and managed benefits administration. Lizann began their career at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley as an Operations Specialist, where they gained hands-on experience in animal care and client services.

Lizann Risk holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology from Purdue University. In addition to their degree, they also have obtained several certifications, including "Tips for Working Remotely" from LinkedIn in August 2021 and a "Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) Certification" from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in January 2011.
