Louis Bennett

Louis Bennett has extensive work experience in various leadership and engineering roles. Louis is currently (as of 2023) serving as the Vice President of Engineering at Humanitec. Prior to that, from 2021 to 2022, they worked as an Executive In Residence at Reforge and as an Advisor at Virta Health.

Earlier in their career, Louis held the position of Vice President of Engineering at VSCO® from 2019 to 2021. During their tenure, they focused on fostering a culture of shipping and launching major products and technical upgrades. Louis also scaled the engineering team and played a role in upgrading levels rubric for Engineering. Throughout their time at VSCO®, they demonstrated stability, humility, and empathy.

From 2018 to 2019, Louis worked as the Head of Engineering, San Francisco at Intercom. Louis led teams working on various projects and played a significant role in expanding the Engineering team in San Francisco and supporting the transition to a global unified R&D team.

Before joining Intercom, Louis held multiple positions at Trulia from 2008 to 2018. These roles included Sr. Director of Software Engineering, Director of Software Engineering, Engineering Manager, and Software Engineer. Louis was responsible for managing and leading teams and contributing to the development of software products.

Louis began their career at Salon Media Group, Inc. where they worked as a Technical Project Manager, Software Engineer, and Junior Software Engineer from 2005 to 2008.

In 2000, they co-founded Academic Web Productions, Inc., and prior to that, they served as the Lead Web Developer at Friedman School at Tufts University from 1999 to 2005.

Louis Bennett attended Tufts University from 1999 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Additionally, they studied at the New England Conservatory of Music from 2000 to 2001 to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree in Saxophone Performance.
