Sean MacKay

Sean Mackay currently serves as the Chief Scientific Officer and Senior Commercialisation Manager at Massey Ventures since June 2023. Additionally, Sean is a member of the Investment Committee at KiwiNet and has been an advisor and board observer at humble bee bio since February 2018, focusing on innovative biomaterials. As an Honorary Research Fellow at the Gillies McIndoe Research Institute since May 2014, Sean contributes to pioneering cancer treatments. Previous roles include Senior Commercialisation Manager at Massey University, involvement with the Rangatahi Advisory Group at Science for Technological Innovation, and participation in the Momentum Investment Committee. Sean's academic background includes a PhD in Chemistry with a focus on nanotechnology from the University of Otago, where also earned a BSc(Hons) in Chemistry and Pharmacology. Current studies include an Executive MBA at Massey University.
