Marsh Heartwells is a marketing and communications professional with a strong background in program coordination and outreach. Currently serving as the Marketing & Communications Manager at Humboldt Area Foundation since May 2021, Marsh previously held the role of Program Assistant. Prior experience includes working as a Program Coordinator at Redwood Coast Energy Authority and as a Marketing Intern at Zero Waste Humboldt, where responsibilities included updating the organization’s Wordpress website and assisting in event marketing. Additionally, Marsh was the Publicity and Outreach Director at the Eric Rofes Center at Humboldt State University, overseeing large-scale events and promotional materials. Marsh holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from Humboldt State University, completing the degree in 2019.

Humboldt Area Foundation is the community foundation of and for the citizens of the Redwood, Trinity and Wild Rivers Region. Humboldt Area Foundation was founded on May 3, 1972 by Vera Perrott Vietor. Since 1972, Vera's vision has been echoed by literally thousands of neighbors committed to building a better community. Through the generosity of the community, Vera's original $2.4 million has grown to more than $78 million and has resulted in nearly $60 million in grants and scholarships to local charitable organizations and students throughout our community.
