Wessel de Cock

Wessel de Cock is currently a PhD student at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, focusing on the historical evolution of scientific concepts and practices, particularly in neuroscientific research on depression during the 1990s. In 2023, Wessel undertook a researcher role at Bielefeld University, contributing to the SFB 1288 Practices of Comparing research group. Previous experience includes a position as a Science Communication and Medical Copywriter at Clariness, where Wessel made clinical research more accessible to the public, and a research assistantship at Leiden University, involving literature studies and online communication. Wessel's internships at the Wiardi Beckman Stichting and in journalism further developed research and editorial skills. With a strong academic background in History from Leiden University and other institutions, Wessel has a multifaceted understanding of communication, research, and public engagement within the fields of health and social issues.
