Alexandra Ballensweig has a diverse work experience, spanning multiple roles and industries. alexandra is the Founder of humhum since September 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Strategic Design and Product Management Consultant from March 2019 to May 2020. alexandra was also a Product Lead and Founding Member at Holisticism in 2018. Alexandra worked at BCG Digital Ventures as a Sr. Product Manager from March 2018 to August 2018, and as a Sr. Strategic Designer from April 2014 to March 2018. Before that, they worked as a Designer at WET Design for a brief period in 2014. Alexandra started their career as a Junior UX Designer at R/GA in 2013, followed by freelance work as a Design Consultant at Phi Design in 2012. alexandra also interned at Omhu Inc as an assistant to the Creative Director/Founder in 2011, and worked as an Assistant Ergonomist at US Ergonomics from August 2010 to July 2011. Additionally, they were a Volunteer Project Assistant at Operation Design from August 2010 to November 2010.
Alexandra Ballensweig has a strong educational background in design and industrial design. alexandra obtained a Master's degree in Industrial Design from ArtCenter College of Design, where they studied from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Design and Environmental Analysis at Cornell University from 2006 to 2010. During their time at Cornell, they also participated in a study abroad term at Accademia Italiana in 2009-2010, focusing on industrial design. In addition, they attended Parsons School of Design - The New School for a Summer Intensive Studies program in Introduction to Product Design in 2008.
Alexandra Ballensweig has also acquired various certifications to enhance their design skills. alexandra obtained the Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from Scrum Alliance in December 2017. In December 2015, they completed the Storytelling for Designers course from Lynda.com. alexandra also obtained certifications in User Experience Fundamentals for Web Design in November 2015 and Strategic Planning Fundamentals in September 2015, both from Lynda.com. These certifications demonstrate their commitment to continuing education and staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
