Kara LaVelle

Kara LaVelle has a diverse work experience spanning from 2004 to the present day. Kara started their career as a Seasonal Cashier at SHOPKO STORES INC in 2004 and later worked as a Barista at Dunn Bros Coffee from 2005 to 2006. Kara then joined the Fund for Public Interest Research in 2007, initially as a Canvasser and later as a Field Manager. In 2008, they joined TakeAction MN as a Canvasser/Organizer. Kara then transitioned to working at Dunn Bros Coffee once again in 2010, this time as a Barista/Key Holder.

In 2011, Kara started working at Whole Foods Market as a Produce Team Member and went on to hold various roles including Associate Floral Buyer, Associate Produce Team Leader, and Floral Buyer/Specialist. Kara worked in these roles until 2016 when they joined Whole Foods Market 365 as a Floor Lead. In 2017, Kara became the Team Leader of Perishables at Whole Foods Market 365, a position they held until 2019.

Currently, Kara is working as the Farm Connections & Sourcing Manager at Hummingbird Wholesale since May 2019. Kara'swork experience reflects a strong background in team leadership, customer service, and organizational roles in the food industry.

Kara LaVelle received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Minnesota, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. In addition to their degree, Kara has obtained the Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification from the Institute for Supply Management in January 2022. Kara also holds the ServSafe Food Manager certification from the National Restaurant Association, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
