Lead Procedural Tech Art

Niels van Diermen is an experienced technical artist specializing in procedural art, with a strong background in Houdini. Currently serving as Lead Procedural Tech Art at HundredStar Games since October 2023, Niels previously held multiple roles at Rocksteady Studios Ltd, including Lead Procedural Technology, Senior Technical Artist, and Technical Artist from August 2017 to September 2023. Niels also worked as a Houdini Technical Artist at Ubisoft from July 2016 to August 2017, where responsibilities included the development of procedural editor tools and terrain generation for the game Steep. Niels began their career as a Games Intern at SideFX Software, focusing on building and optimizing procedural assets and engaging in VR experiences. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Applied Science in Indie Game Development from NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences and an ICT Manager Level 4 BBL degree from Rijnijssel ROC Arnhem.
