Hunter Street Baptist Church
Heather Skaggs is an experienced freelance writer and contract author, currently working with Starnes Media and Shelby County Newspapers, Inc. since June 2022 and September 2013, respectively. Additionally, Heather has been a contract author for Arcadia Publishing since January 2012 and serves as an administrative assistant at Hunter Street Baptist Church since October 2014. Previous professional experience includes roles as a content editor at FOX6 WBRC from October 1998 to July 2009 and a writer reporter at Over the Mountain Journal in 2000. Heather holds an Associate's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Jefferson State Community College, earned between 1998 and 2001.

Our church exists to lead people to Jesus Christ and church membership, develop them to Christ-like maturity, equip them for ministry and send them on mission in order to magnify God. Hunter Street is a place where we can grow to be more like Jesus. It's where we can be equipped for ministry by discovering the gifts and talents God has given each of us. Here we can learn to take the Gospel to neighbors, to people in our city and to those around the world.
