Maria Vassiliades has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting in 2003, they worked as an English and Writing Instructor at Northeastern Illinois University. Maria later became a Writing Instructor and Assistant to the Writing Center Coordinator at Hellenic American University & Hellenic American Union from 2004 to 2006. From 2000 to 2007, they worked as an English Instructor and Writing Center English Tutor at College of Lake County.

In 2007, Maria transitioned to Regina Dominican High School where they became an English Teacher until 2008. Maria then joined Firman Community Services as the Director of Afterschool Programs & After School Matters Program Coordinator until 2009.

From 2009 to 2017, Maria held the position of Assistant to the Consul General/ Ambassador at the Consulate General of Greece in Chicago. Maria'sresponsibilities included coordinating special events, managing schedules, writing official correspondence, and serving as a liaison with various government offices.

In 2013, Maria became a Teacher at Pythagoras Greek School until 2019. Currently, they work as the Managing Director of Education at Huntington Learning Center from June 2019 onwards.

Maria Vassiliades obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from The University of Illinois at Chicago between 1994 and 1999. Maria pursued further education and completed their Master of Arts degree in English Literature at DePaul University from 1999 to 2000. Later, Maria earned a Master of Teaching in Secondary Education from National Louis University from 2007 to 2008.
