Dr. Harry Hobbs, DBA, PhD, SHRM-SCP

Dr. Harry Hobbs has a strong and diverse work background, starting with their current position as Vice President at Huntsville Utilities since October 2018. Prior to this role, they served as the Site Director at Florida Institute of Technology Huntsville Site from February 2017 to October 2018. In this role, they directed, controlled, and coordinated graduate-level degree programs for clientele in the U.S. Government and industry.

Before joining Florida Institute of Technology, Dr. Hobbs held multiple positions at Huntsville Utilities. From August 2016 to August 2017, they worked as the Community Engagement Liaison and Education Director, responsible for fostering community relationships and overseeing educational initiatives. Prior to this role, they served as the Public and Governmental Affairs Liaison from July 2014 to July 2016. In this role, Dr. Hobbs monitored legislative and community issues to enhance the company's policy development and compliance while improving public image and promoting company growth.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Hobbs worked as the Communications Relations Officer at the City of Huntsville Police Department from September 2010 to July 2014. Dr. Harry also served as the JROTC Senior Army Instructor at Huntsville City Schools from June 2007 to July 2010.

Throughout their various roles, Dr. Harry Hobbs has demonstrated expertise in leadership, community engagement, education, government affairs, and strategic planning.

Dr. Harry Hobbs, DBA, PhD, SHRM-SCP, completed their Doctorate of Business Administration in Business Administration and Management, General from the Florida Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained their Master's degree in Human Resources Management and Services from Murray State University from 1996 to 1997.

In addition to their academic degrees, Dr. Hobbs has also pursued professional certifications. Dr. Harry obtained a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University in December 2022. Furthermore, they obtained the SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM in July 2019.
