Joe Gehrdes

Joe Gehrdes has a significant amount of work experience in various roles within the field of communications and governmental affairs. Joe began their career in 2001 as a Governmental Affairs Liaison for the Huntsville/Madison County Builders Association, where they worked until 2011. In 2011, Gehrdes joined Huntsville Utilities and held several positions including Governmental Affairs Manager from November 2011 to March 2014, Director of PR/Communications from March 2014 to March 2019, and most recently, Director of Community Relations since March 2019. In these roles, they were responsible for managing organizational image through energy programs and services, community relations, internal and external communications, and engagement with various stakeholders such as news media, regulatory leaders, and community organizations.

Joe Gehrdes attended The University of Alabama from 1994 to 1998 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.
