Lucia Cape has extensive experience in economic development and workforce management. Lucia started their career at the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County in 2006 as the Vice President of Workforce, a position they held until 2013. Lucia then became the Vice President of Economic Development, where they served until 2015. In 2015, they were promoted to the role of Senior Vice President of Economic Development, a position they currently hold.
Lucia Cape obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia, which they attended from 1986 to 1990. Later on, they pursued a Master of Public Administration degree in Public Policy from The University of Georgia, attending from 1997 to 1999. Additionally, Lucia obtained the Certified Chamber Executive (ACCE) certification from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives in July 2017, and the Institute of Organizational Management (IOM) certification from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation in July 2016.
