Kate Leonard is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in international tax and diplomacy. Currently serving as the Honorary Consul of Japan in San Diego since July 2012, Kate promotes business, cultural, military, and educational relationships between Japan and the United States, vetted by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US State Department. As an International Tax Partner - Emeritus at Hutchinson and Bloodgood LLP since 2010, Kate specializes in tax services for high net-worth individuals, including US expatriates and non-resident aliens. Previous roles include consulting on international tax structuring, compliance, and serving as a US CPA in Japan’s largest audit corporation. Kate's career began with a significant role at Intel Corporation and has been complemented by an MBA in International Business from Santa Clara University and a BA in Japanese Studies with an Accounting Minor from San Jose State University.
